Turquoise Plitvice Lakes in Croatia
It was an unbearable heat in between the emerald green and turquoise waters. The only moment of chill was next to a big waterfall.
The line at the entrance of the park was quite huge for a Monday morning at 9 am. Quite crowded in the park as well: big groups of asian tourists, people with children in strollers and doggies and waiting in line to take photos from a good spot.
The place is nice, I’ve never seen such colours on any lake, usually lakes have a brownish shade. I read that the beautiful turquise colour it’s due to the travertine created naturally in the lakes.
There are 16 lakes on different levels, connected through waterfalls. The location is very impressive to see and the Park is so big that it can take up to several hours to visit.
Enjoy the photos!

π Your pictures are stunning. We tried to go to Plitvice last year and it was the first time we had to cancel a trip due to illness (mine! not the kids!). I still hope to go one day. And I aspire to take photos half as good as yours.
