Paris in black and white
I saw Paris in the spring, summer and fall. I want to see it immensely during winter, snowy, cold and deserted. To climb the stairs of Montmartre and freeze my hand on the railing. And get warm in a Parisian café with a hot tea. And take pictures, many, many pictures.
Until then (who knows when I will be in Paris with snow …) I enjoy the beautiful memories and landscapes of Paris in pictures. I tried a black & white version. Here’s what came out (I like them very much):

Sacre Coeur de Montmartre, my favorite spot in Paris / Bazilica Montmartre, locul meu preferat din Paris

Street in Montmartre, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris/ Strada in cartierul Montmartre, unul din cele mai frumoase din Paris

Love locks on bridge in Paris, a very ugly habit which destroys the bridges all over the capital, some pieces fell under the weight of the locks. / Lacate pentru indragostiti. Oamenii nu sunt constienti ca este un obicei urat si distructiv, multe balustrade de poduri s-au prabusit datorita greutatii lacatelor.

The moon near Eiffel tower (left). View from the Eiffel tower (right). / Stanga- luna langa turnul Eiffel. Dreapta – vedere din turn.

View from the Triumphal Arch in Paris. In the middle is Champs Elysees Boulevard / Vedere din Arcul de Triumf. Bulevardul din mijloc este Champs Elysees.

Very nice collection of pictures of Paris and I really like them in B&W. As for seeing Paris under the snow, it is a very difficult feat if you don’t live here as rarely does snow stay on the ground more than a day or two…and it is becoming rare to have a snowy day in Paris but I do hope you get to see it as it is fairly magical. The city become silent with very little traffic and with the snow absorbing all of the remaining sounds…(Suzanne)
Oh, Suzanne, how beautiful you described it, exactly how I imagined it would be. Magical and quiet. 🙂
Just to give you a taste, here are two posts we did in early 2013 – the only year we had snow during our stay in Paris as we didn’t get snow in 2014 and we won’t be here in 2015 as we are going back to Canada in early January: Snow in Paris and Still more snow.
awww, beautiful photos! I can almost feel the crisp, cold air.
The snowmen are so nice, this photos is beyond cute http://parisexpat2012.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/img_4659.jpg 🙂
I think 2013 was the year it snowed a lot in Brussels as well.
Are you moving back to Canada, or you are just going to visit?
Thanks Corina. Yes, that picture is truly cute. We are moving back. Our stay in Paris was never going to be permanent. We had moved here for a 3 years work contract but we are moving back 5 months early for family reasons. We are going to be settling in Montreal so we will go back to lots of snow and very cold temperature…will need to get used to it once more. We still don’t know what we will do with the blog and it certainly will have to be morphed if we do keep it.
I was going to ask what will happen to your blog. I hope you will keep it and show us Montreal in detail, like you did with Paris. It could be really nice 🙂 “Suzanne et Pierre in Montreal”
I wish you all the best with your moving!!!
Great pics, so chic, so french so out of time, lovely!
