Zadar, Croatia
I had no idea how beautiful Croatia is, until I went there in July 2013. The sea is blue, clean and gorgeous (great for spending a nice vacation being lazy in the sun). There are cities, nature and history!
Zadar is a small city at the Adriatic Sea in Croatia and I went there by car after visiting Split. The weather was super hot, almost unbearable, but it was all forgotten when I got to see the impressive Sea Organ and The Sun Salutation:
- The Sea Organ – it’s a musical instrument with a system of tubes located under large, concrete steps. It plays various sounds under the influence of sea waves. The sound depends on how big the waves are, sometimes is more chaotic, sometimes more organized. It was magnificent listening to this wonderful, low sound that comes from underground. It gave me chills and goose bumps.
- The Sun Salutation, a huge Solar panel located just next to the Sea Organ, is a 22-meter diameter circle of solar panels paved into the ground. During night it’s supposed to have a beautiful light show in the rhythm of the waves and sounds of the Sea Organ. Unfortunately I wasn’t there after sunset, so I didn’t have the chance to see it.
Around these two sights there were people resting on the concrete steps, with their feet in the water.
What a lovely city!
